One of the most unusual spaces in housing design, the River City Building designed by Bertrand Goldberg as a utopian vision of a “city within a city” where parallel S-shaped towers are to influence behaviour and promote direct communication among neighbors.The concrete megastructure is located alongside the Chicago River and was completed in 1986. Currently, it houses a 70 slip marina, indoor parking, commercial space, numerous apartments, and even a preschool.

Dougal Building Maintenance performed façade examinations, deck repairs, concrete restoration, sealing replacement, epoxy injection, and erected specially designed scaffolding to access the round S-shaped structure of the building.
